Connect your AI agent / MCP

Let your AI agent work with your Spools files.

Any AI app that supports remote MCP with OAuth, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, can use Spools. The Mac app is not required.

Connect

  1. In your AI app’s connector settings, add a remote MCP server named General Motion. If it asks for a transport, choose Streamable HTTP.
  2. Enter https://generalmotion.studio/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your General Motion account in the browser. Do not use an API key.

What it can do

  • Find files by name, not by content.
  • Read small text files and get download links for others. Links expire.
  • Create folders, and move, copy, or trash files, if you have permission.
  • Upload files, if your AI app can send HTTP uploads.

It sees only the current version of each file.

If it does not work

  • No sign-in prompt: check the URL, and that your app supports remote MCP with OAuth.
  • Missing files: ask the agent which organization and Drive it is using.
  • Cannot change a file: the Drive may be read-only.
